Postponed real estate taxes must be paid by July 31

Barron County Treasurer Yvonne Ritchie reminds taxpayers that the 2007 postponed real estate taxes are due on or before July 31, 2008. City of Rice Lake property taxes must be paid at the Rice Lake City Hall. All other property taxes in Barron County must be paid to the Barron County Treasurer.

Payments may be made in person at the County Treasurer's Office in the Barron County Courthouse at 330 E LaSalle Ave, Room 2412, Barron. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Payments by mail can be made to the Barron County Treasurer to Yvonne Ritchie, Barron County Treasurer, 330 E LaSalle Ave, Room 2412, Barron, WI 54812. To avoid any late charges, payments must be postmarked by July 31, 2008. Please include the bottom portion from your reminder notice or your tax bill to insure proper credit.

Taxpayers can pay by phone with credit card by calling the toll free number 1-800-272-9829, select option #3 to pay property taxes, enter the jurisdiction code 5874 for Barron County and follow the instructions given. Have your parcel number, the amount of your taxes, and your credit card information ready before you call. Be sure to get your confirmation number before you hang-up. Payments can be made through the Internet using E-Check or credit card: Log on to www.witreasurers.org . Click on "Pay Taxes Online" and choose Barron County. Follow the directions and get a confirmation number before you log-off. Payments must be made before 12 p.m. on July 31, 2008, to avoid any late charges.
